My name’s Yejin. I’m a member of NYU’s class of 2022 and a proud part of Washington Square News’s business staff. My roommate is Happy, a Shih Tzu, and my housemate is Minky, a Shih Tzu-poodle mix. I live in the NY/NJ area, mostly staying in New York. I enjoy reading on the subway (and giving myself motion sickness in the process) and drinking tea in Bryant Park.
I started writing when I was pretty young, taking inspiration from all of the content I was privileged enough to see. My parents raised me on a healthy mixture of Teletubbies and violent video games, fostering a fairly interesting sense of creativity in me. When I was younger, I played the clarinet, painted terrible pictures of my childhood backyard, and watched anime with my older brother while my mom made homemade noodles for the umpteenth time.
As I grew older, I became unhealthily addicted to (and inspired by) Legally Blonde. I fell in love with Elle’s drive and live by the mantra of “anything is possible.” I’m still stuck on that film, which you’ll probably see throughout the content I publish.
Now that that’s all been said, you might be wondering why I started this blog. It started as an idea to fill up time in-between internship, work, and studying for the LSAT. It’s a way for me to say what I want to say, even if no one wants to listen (ha). It’s a way for me to document my quest to bake the perfect macaron and my slow track to finding where I want to end up.
